Xbox: Disc-Spiele schalten digitale Lizenzen für Insidertester frei

Microsoft testet eine Neuerung für das Xbox-Ökosystem, von der ihr natürlich schon gelesen habt. Ab sofort können Xbox Insider im Rahmen der Xbox Update Preview eine digitale Berechtigung für unterstützte Disc-Spiele beanspruchen.

Der Ablauf ist easy: Ihr legt eine unterstützte physische Disc in eine Xbox One oder Xbox Series X ein und startet das Spiel. Sobald die digitale Lizenz einmal hinterlegt ist, stehen euch die typischen digitalen Vorteile zur Verfügung. Dazu zählen je nach Spiel unter anderem Xbox Play Anywhere sowie Xbox Cloud Gaming, sofern der jeweilige Titel dies unterstützt.

Verkauft oder verleiht man das Spiel, wandert die Lizenz beim Aktivieren auf der neuen Konsole automatisch zum anderen Account und fliegt natürlich aus der eigenen Bibliothek raus. Die Disc bleibt also weiterhin so etwas wie ein Schlüssel zum Spiel.

Eure physische Disc verliert dadurch nicht ihre Funktion, sondern lässt sich weiterhin ganz normal nutzen wie bisher. Wann das Ganze final erscheint, ist noch nicht raus, dürfte aber recht flott gehen, denke ich. Ich hatte mal ein bisschen gewühlt, eine genaue FAQ gibt es hier, falls ihr reinschauen wollt.
